Airbrush Pros and Cons

Airbrush makeup is a service that I offer. But a lot of my clients don't know that I do. There is a reason for that and that is that there are pros and cons to using airbrush makeup.
Airbrush makeup is applied using pressure to disperse a fine spray of silicone, water or alcohol based liquid makeup onto the skin. There are many advantages to using airbrush, such as its longevity, its ability to remain sweat/water proof, the buildable coverage it provides and the speed in which larger areas of skin can be covered.
However! There are some disadvantages of using airbrush, more detailed and precision work such as winged liner or lipstick are often better off being done using regular makeup products and brushes. The machine used to apply airbrush makeup needs cleaning between each colour change which can be time consuming and the machines themselves are very temperamental and can get air bubbles and blockages which again take time to fix.
The airbrush can be used to create some amazing looks and the skill of the person applying the makeup also helps the final outcome. It is a skill that people have to learn, practice and develop. It isn't a service that should be offered without prior training and experience.
Airbrush is perfect for weddings, using a silicone base will ensure that flawless coverage that will last the entire day, it will be sweat and water proof so those happy tears can flow without effecting the makeup.
My advice is that airbrush should always be done with a trial to see if the look is what the client wants, if they are happy with the final look, and if they feel comfortable in the way that it is applied.
